Logos Pt. 2

I have narrowed down to a few variations now. I tried the turntable arm with the circular designs but it just looked too detached to really hold together as a logo, so that is out. Of these my favorite is actually the one on the bottom right, inside the box. I still like the ones in the circle though.

I like where you're going with these. A couple of things you might try if you're still fiddling with them is to put all three words in a box and have "records" extend up the right side from top to bottom. Also, you might try putting "records" inside one of the circles.

I like the top right the best, especially since the circle reflects a record. I would like to see the word records in the circle too but I can see how it may end up being too crowded.

I like the newer versions - your earlier ones with the "take" broken up were a little hard for me to read. I know they're supposed to be hip, but that was a problem for me. I think the top left corner is my favorite version. It holds together the best for me - and I like that the whole thing is not contained within the box. It's an "outside of the box" concept and company, and it feels too bound up to be all boxed in for the logo. The top left version is clean and balanced, and very modern. But the color choices and font give it the retro edge you were looking for. I think the lowercase letters are just as bold, but they don't "shout" at me the way the all caps does. And the choice to go all lowercase is a bit rebellious, like the jazz music you're representing.

The circle or record concept is nice and has the symbolism you're trying to get at, but it doesn't have the same balance. It's hard to put text in a circle without it looking a little off center, and the RECORDS on the outside of the circle feels a left out.

I like how you presented these on an album cover. It's easy to see how they may be used. Nice work!

I have to agree with Jenny, I'm glad you're leaning towards logos where the "take" isn't broken up; I thought it was a little hard to read.

I really like the designs you've narrowed down to, and I think you'll be able to get a good final product out of any of them!

I do like the ones in the circle, again, for the feel of a record, but also when they are put on the album cover, I think they stand out a lot more than the other two which blend more into the background. That might also be a function of the color of the album and the colors you're using for the logo, but I think it's something important to consider - how much visibility do you want for your logo on the albums, versus maintaining the integrity of the album cover and having your logo be a secondary element?

Again, I really do like all four on here. If I had to narrow down, I would pick either of the top two, and then again, work with how much of a focal point you want them to be on the album.

Nice work!

Hey Neal, very nice work. I like the ones on the top the most.
I love the idea of the circle probably because it is easy to read, basic, simple, and relates well to your product. I was also thinking about what some of the other people wrote about how visible do you want it to be? Did you try making the circle transparent and only using a very thin stroke? (yeah, I know you probably did) Well, I still like it as it is.
As for the logo on the top left, I have to say once again that it is very easy to read, to me, probably not as strong as a logo. In this case I don't read well the records area maybe because it is white on "white" but I just don't read it as well as I do in the circle one.(you might not even need the word records) Well I will see what you come up with. Again very nice work.
