label

Ok, I've settled on a logo, and I plan on using the type part of the logo both with the Hand mark and without, as you can see on my packaging. To clarify: this is the front and back of my coffee label (so far). I think the back (R) needs a lot more work. I plan on having nothing on the sides of the bag, just plain brown paper.

I really like it! I'd definitely be attracted to that kind of packaging - the brown paper will stand out from the plastic bags and white cardboard that you usually see. Are you going to leave a little edge of brown paper on your final packaging, instead of bleeding your image from one panel to the next? I like that edge - it reinforces a handmade, rustic, "for the people, by the people" quality that resonates with those who are looking for lower priced organic foods.

What other pieces are you planning for the launch?...I was thinking about a coupon or a page from the newspaper coupon section. That's the way a lot of grocery store products are launched.

I meant to weigh in on your logo earlier as well. I like the all lowercase version that you chose - the balance seems right.

Looking good!

I LOVE this packaging. the way you have arranged the wording and logo work very well and it is attractive. I would definitely take notice of this product if I saw it in a store.

I completely agree with the last two comments, I really like where your packaging is going. I like the lowercase logo you chose as well, and I think all the colors really work well together on the brown paper. It definitely says organic without being cliche or using traditional greens or something like that.

Just to clarify, is one of the sides the front and the other the back, or are those two separate packages? If so I was just curious what you were printing on the back? And are you going to add anything on the sides, or leave them plain? I don't think they really need anything - the front panel is really strong - I was just curious!

I'm very interested to see the rest of the products you create as well!

I'm with everyone else...the bag mock-ups are looking good! Some thoughts/considerations I had:

-I wonder how fast the logo can be read when it's green on green but this may just be the photo/my monitor display. Though I think you might want to think about viewing it on the shelf from a distance.

-I'm also wondering how it's going to close. Is it going to be like a typical coffee bag with those things that bend in to close it? A sticker? Stapled?

-Finally was wondering if you tried other type for the front of the bag. I just worry about the logotype standing out when that same font is used everywhere else on the bag.

-Ok and one last thought...any thoughts on putting something in the fold? The website URL, a tagline?

I really like the way your logo and package design turned out. I am glad you kept the logo mark as is, dispite the class's reaction that it seemed socialist. The combination of the logo and your font choice create a very memorable image and would help to create a strong brand image.

I noticed that you are a professional photographer. I am assuming you took the photos of the coffee packaging and the beans in the ad. The create a very modern, warm and approachable feeling.

Shelf ready!
