Here is a print ad that would run in the Sunday coupon supplement, based on an excellent suggestion Jenny made. Also, Jennifer had a good thought in a comment she made on my last post: maybe I am overusing the 'typewriter' type. In the case of this product, I think it can work to use that type for most of the packaging, since I am going for a bit of a home-made, DIY vibe. In this ad, I started out designing in the one font only but it did feel a bit undynamic. So, I tried something that I thought might complement the original type and the people's organic logo.

Here is the backside of the coffee packaging; again, I mixed in Frutiger (a sans-serif typeface) to avoid overusing the typewriter typeface. Looking at it again, I may need to make adjustments to the green area so that the logo can be seen. Thoughts?

The ad is wonderful! I really love your logo and the whole black and white with color text. This is advertising I would be drawn to, and the look of a product I would purchase. I think that you've done a great job of combining the concept of organic with the acessability of Target. I also agree that if the entire ad was in the typerwiter font, it might be a bit much, but you used a perfect amount in the little side info.
Definitely glad the entire ad isn't in a typewriter font. I think both of these kick. Only one minor suggestion is to burn out the area behind "highest quality" in the ad. It's a little distracting. Very minor but it would complete the ad (IMHO).
I love the ad like everyone else and think it's the perfect collateral to go with a new brand launch like this. Good thoughts all around.
I definitely agree with that little area that glows behind the highest quality text although I might push the question a bit further to ask if the imagery looks "rustic" enough? There's something about the photo that just doesn't seem in line with your brand. This may just be me but I somehow would picture the beans in some natural habitat or in a burlap sack--not spilled on a white surface with an out of focus bg. Oh the picky monster might be out but that would be the only thing I could think of to push this further. Nice job!
